What it is
Get to the line first, or be the last car still running. Every race builds a new track from a seed — ovals, twisty knots, figure eights and circuits with bridges — through farmland, desert dunes, mountain passes, an old town, a neon downtown, a container port and the snowbound tundra. Cars dent, lose doors and bonnets, and drive worse when they are hurt.
