Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Shadeburn Racer game for Mac ("the Game") published by FTECH, MCHJ ("we"), Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In short: the Game sends us nothing.
1. What we collect
Nothing. The Game has no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no accounts, and it does not contact our servers on its own.
2. What stays on your Mac
The Game keeps its settings in ~/.shadowracer.cfg and your saved tracks, garage upgrades, money and championship seasons in ~/.shadowracer.db. These files never leave your Mac. Delete them to erase everything.
3. Multiplayer
Only when you open a multiplayer game yourself:
- On your local network, the Game announces and finds games with Bonjour. Other players receive your player name, your car and your driving input for the race. macOS asks you for permission to use the local network.
- Through an online server, the same data travels over an encrypted connection (TLS) through the relay server set in SETTINGS. If you use our server, it keeps nothing after the room closes; its log has room codes, times, and network addresses only as a one-way hash that changes every time the server starts. A room password, if the host sets one, is used only to let players in.
- By game code, the host's Game asks the router to open a port (UPnP, NAT-PMP or PCP) for the duration of the game, and the code contains the host's public address.
Players you race with see your player name. Choose a name you are happy to show.
4. Links
A link in the Game's menu opens your browser only when you click it. Websites you visit that way have their own policies.
5. Purchases
We sell the Game through itch.io and, later, the Mac App Store. Payments are handled by them under their own privacy policies; we receive no payment card details.
6. Children
The Game collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
7. Changes
If the Game starts handling data differently, we will update this policy before that version is released. The current version is always at this address.
